Here's the winners announcement video for this year's Community Scavenger Hunt!

We're excited to once again hold our second Arlington Woods Community Scavenger Hunt! Spread the word in the community! This year's hunt will run from August 1-September 1, 2021. See below for all the details!

On the Scavenger Hunt Sheet, there will be a list of locations throughout our community that will each feature one of two different tasks:

CLUE: The most common type of location will be a Clue Location. We will direct you to a specific location in the neighbourhood where you need to find a clue card (see below image).

The cards are laminated and affixed to specific items (for example, attached to a fence). On the card, you will find a clue word. Write the clue word down under that location number on your Scavenger Hunt List. Please don't remove the Clue Cards from their locations, as this will ruin the fun for others. 

NEW THIS YEAR-- The clue words will all be clues for you to guess a secret word. For example, if the clue words were "Emergency, Help, Aid, Save, Paramedics". The secret word would be "R __ __ __ __ E. (See the bottom of the page for the answer.) Can you use the clues to figure out the secret words?

FIND: While most of the locations will contain clue cards, there are several BONUS tasks where you need to find specific information.  For example, we might give you the location of a park bench in the neighbourhood and ask you to find the person's name that the park bench was donated in memory of. You would then write that person's name as the answer on your Scavenger Hunt Sheet.

The Scavenger Hunt is located in the area between Banner Road and Hunt Club and between Cedarview and Greenbank. It will utilize community streets, bike trails, and parks within these boundaries. Please respect social distancing when you are collecting the clues or information at these locations. If you see others there, you can wait at an appropriate distance until they have moved. We want you to have fun, but we also want it to be safe during this time of COVID-19. Please also respect City and Public property!

When you have completed the Scavenger Hunt, you can submit your answers recorded on your Scavenger Hunt Sheet on the online form below along with your contact information. All contact information will be kept confidential and your name will not be added on any kind of mailing list unless you specifically request this.

Submissions will be entered into a draw to win a few prizes. You will be entered to win one of four $50 gift cards to some amazing local businesses! Only one entrant per family, please. While we would LOVE to see people complete the entire Scavenger Hunt, we realize that with young kids this might be difficult, so all submissions that have correctly completed at least half of the Scavenger Hunt will be entered to win a prize!

At Arlington Woods Church, we just really love our neighbourhood and want to provide you with something fun to do during another strange summer. We really missed co-hosting our annual Bike Rodeo again this year, and wanted to host something fun for community kids and families to do while still staying safe. We would love to see our neighbours having a little fun and adventure outdoors and getting some exercise! If you would like to take pictures and share them on social media, you can use the hashtag #AWScavengerHunt. Just don't share the answers to the clues! That would be cheating! When you have completed the Scavenger Hunt Sheet (or have completed as much as you are able), you can fill out the form below to be entered into the prize draw. The Scavenger Hunt will officially be completed on Wednesday, September 1st, so you have until then to fill it out. Remember, if you answer at least half of them correctly, you will be entered in a draw. Please only fill out one answer form per household. Any personal information you submit will be kept confidential and will only be used for the purposes of the draw unless you specifically request more information about Arlington Woods Church or Trend-Arlington Community Association.
