When you give to Arlington Woods, it makes a BIG difference! Ten percent of your donations to our General Fund are used to regularly financially support local and worldwide mission endeavors. While there are many other mission opportunities our church and congregation are involved in, this page is meant to help YOU learn about the people and organizations we regularly support through your generosity.

 

Christian Counselling Ottawa

Christian Counselling Ottawa (CCO) is committed to providing professional and accessible counselling and psychotherapy to assist people in effectively managing life’s challenges. They provide individual, couple, and family counselling in the areas of grief, depression, anxiety, addiction, abuse, trauma, relationship issues in marriages and families, child development, as well as providing counselling for churches and pastors. Ottawa Innercity Ministries (OIM)

OIM is a ministry to the poor and homeless in our city. Their ministry includes street outreach where they build relationships with the poor and homeless, offering them needed food and toiletries. They also run a drop-in that provides food, hair care, foot care, clothing, and spiritual care; a workskills program to assist people in improving their life skills; a youth choir;  and an innercity arts program. First Place OPTIONS

First Place OPTIONS is a non-profit charity in Ottawa offering free, confidential services to anyone facing an unplanned pregnancy or dealing with post abortion grief. Their services include pregnancy tests, Decision Aid Counselling (parenting, adoption, abortion), Post Abortion grief support, Post Adoption support, as well as pregnancy and parenting resources. Morrison Gardens Community Food Bank

Your regular giving at Arlington Wood Church helps us to provide emergency food to residents of Morrison Gardens Community Housing located just down the street from us. Their community building is one location of the Ottawa Food Bank and is now under the umbrella of the Pincecrest-Queensway Community Health Centre. Ongoing needs include halal and gluten free food donations. For more information click here.

 

FAMSAC Food Cupboard

FAMSAC provides emergency food assistance to the communities of Bayshore, Bells Corners, Crystal Beach, Craig Henry, Manordale, and Trend Village. For more information visit http://www.famsac.ca.

 

Love Ottawa

Love Ottawa encourages churches from our city to partner together for events such as the 'Dig & Delve' apologetics conference, 'The Big Give', and 'Friends for Dinner', a ministry to foreign students. Love Ottawa also provides networking, support, and learning opportunities for Ottawa-area pastors and church leaders. For more information visit www.loveottawa.ca/

 

Capital City Mission (CCM)

Capital City Mission runs a coffee-house style drop-in which is a place of friendship and community for the poor and homeless in downtown Ottawa. It's a home for many people who don't have families in their lives. Respond Ottawa

Respond Ottawa is an organization that developed following the Tornado that impacted Ottawa in the fall of 2018.  Their mission is to prepare and deploy the church of the Ottawa region to love and care for people in our city and region during a time of crisis. Daniel Desgroseilliers, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship

Daniel Desgroseilliers serves as a campus pastor through InterVarsity at Ottawa University and Algonquin College. Launch Point Church

Launch Point is a developing church plant in the growing area of Orleans South. Their vision is to connect with those who are non-religious or those who have left church behind. Corrine Cadinouche, Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF)

MAF uses light aircraft and the skills of talented Christian men and women to deliver real help, hope, and healing to thousands of communities around the world. MAF flies into remote areas of the world which are largely inaccessible, delivering food, tools, supplies, clothing, medical help, and the Good News of Jesus! After serving for several years in DR Congo, Corrine is now the Flight Operations Coordinator in Angola where she scheduling flights, schedules aircraft maintenance, and does office administration.  For more information about MAF visit www.mafc.org. Galcom International Canada

GALCOM builds and supplies solar powered radios and audio players and designs and builds low-powered FM radio towers for needy communities all around the world. The radios help people hear the Good News of Jesus, supporting the work of missionaries in places where people cannot read, do not have a written language, belong to an oral culture, or in areas that are hard to reach by foot.
