Coffeehouse on Saturday, May 28:

Drop in to our White Pine Café from 7-9pm for our very first Coffeehouse community event! The coffeehouse will feature local musicians from our community and church as well as a visual arts display with featured local artists. We'll post May 28's musicians and artists here when we get them confirmed. There is no admission cost and the event is for ages 16+.

Our Hours:

The White Pine Café is currently open for people to drop-in on Monday mornings from 8:30am-11:30am. Connect with others, work, study, or read in this relaxing atmosphere. It is also open on Sunday mornings (9-9:30am and following the service).

About the White Pine Café:

As a part of our church building renovations from the 2018 tornado, we wanted to create an area of our church that would serve as a comfortable meeting place for people from our community and church. The ceiling and some of the counters of the café were made using white pine trees from the tornado. The café has several pub-style tables and also features a Fireside Lounge with an inviting fireplace, couches, and comfy chairs. In March, 2022, we began a "soft launch" to open the doors of the café during specific drop-in dates.

The White Pine Café operates as a volunteer run, donation based service that supports local charities. We have suggested donation costs listed below. After covering our costs, all money will go to support a featured charity. Until July, our featured charity is: FAMSAC. You can donate on-site with cashless payment (tap) available. You may also purchase a $20 donation voucher punch card if you would like to get coffee on a regular basis.

Suggested Donation Prices:

Beverages: $1-2

Snacks: $1-2

You can donate on-site with cashless payment (tap) available. You may also purchase a $20 donation voucher punch card if you would like to make purchases on a regular basis. Tax receipts cannot be issued for donations in the café because you are receiving a service.

Serving Equator Coffee:

The White Pine Café serves Equator fair trade coffee, organic fair trade tea, and healthy snacks.

Volunteer Opportunities:

We see the White Pine Café as one way that our church can create a welcoming meeting place for our community while also providing an opportunity to give back and make a difference. Because we are not looking to profit from the café, we rely solely on volunteers to serve food and drinks and be a friendly face to those who drop by. Those who serve in the café are certified food handling trained staff. If you would be interested in volunteering at the café, please contact cafe@arlingtonwoods.ca.
