Our Hours:
The White Pine Café is currently open for people to drop-in on Monday mornings from 9:00-11:30 a.m. (with the exception of holiday Mondays), Thursday 9:30-11:30 a.m. and Sunday before and after Sunday service. Connect with others, work, study, or read in this relaxing atmosphere.
About the White Pine Café:
As a part of our church building renovations from the 2018 tornado, we wanted to create an area of our church that would serve as a comfortable meeting place for people from our community and church. The ceiling and some of the counters of the café were made using white pine trees from the tornado. The café has several pub-style tables and also features a Fireside Lounge with an inviting fireplace, couches, and comfy chairs. In March, 2022, we began a "soft launch" to open the doors of the café during specific drop-in dates. During the summer of 2022, we also started holding regular Coffeehouse events featuring local music and art.
The White Pine Café operates as a volunteer-run, donation-based service that supports local charities. We have suggested donation costs listed below. After covering our costs, all money will go to support a featured charity. You can donate on-site with cashless payment (tap) available. You may also purchase a $20 donation voucher punch card if you would like to get coffee on a regular basis.
Suggested Donation Prices:
Beverages: $1-2
Snacks: $1-2
You can donate on-site with cashless payment (tap) available. You may also purchase a $20 donation voucher punch card if you would like to make purchases on a regular basis. Tax receipts cannot be issued for donations in the café because you are receiving a service.
Serving Equator Coffee:
The White Pine Café serves Equator fair trade coffee, organic fair trade tea, and healthy snacks.
Volunteer Opportunities:
We see the White Pine Café as one way that our church can create a welcoming meeting place for our community while also providing an opportunity to give back and make a difference. Because we are not looking to profit from the café, we rely solely on volunteers to serve food and drinks and be a friendly face to those who drop by. Those who serve in the café are certified food handling trained staff. If you would be interested in volunteering at the café, please contact cafe@arlingtonwoods.ca.
