10AM- ARLINGTON WOODS CHURCH SERVICE IN-PERSON & ONLINE: Join us this Sunday, September 26th, 2021 at 10am for our service! This week, we’re excited to welcome speaker, singer, and songwriter Jonathan Miracle, who will be sharing his story with us and addressing important questions on:  What is the Doctrine of Discovery and why is it important? Why are land acknowledgements significant? How can the church and Christians honour our First Nations' family?

Guest Speaker:

Jonathan Maracle - Jonathan is Mohawk from Ontario, Canada. His father was Mohawk elder and visionary, Rev. Andrew C. Maracle Sr. and his mother was Lillian Jane Ross, daughter of Scottish immigrants of the Bruce and Ross clans. He resides on Tyendinaga Mohawk Nation with his wife and four children.

As visionary and founder of Broken Walls, an internationally recognized First Nations musical group and ministry, Jonathan has travelled the world for the past twenty-two years. The vision of Broken Walls is to see people from cultural minorities restored and able to walk in their true destiny, realizing their unique gifts and abilities. They also target major issues such as suicide prevention and social struggles among both First Nations and non-natives. For the past several years, they have partnered with Carry the Cure from Palmer, Alaska whose focus is suicide prevention.

Jonathan also travels as a solo artist and guest speaker using culture, music and speaking for those who cannot bring in the full group or who wish to have an introduction to the ministry.

As a speaker, Jonathan focuses on:

  1. How to honour and who to honour through protocol
  2. Respecting cultural ways
  3. Why the drum and dance are so important
  4. Bringing scriptural truth that enlightens people to better understanding of First Nations people
