Thank you to all of our walkers and donors! In 2024, we were able to raise $6900 for Capital City Mission and Jericho Road! Because of you, many in our city will receive help and support!

The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is a family-friendly walk to raise money for charities serving people experiencing homelessness, hurt, and hunger. This year's walk takes place on February 24, 2024. Our Arlington Woods Church team will be walking to raise money for Capital City Mission and Jericho Road (Addiction Recovery and Support). In 2023, our team raised $7030 which was $1509 more than what we raised in 2022!  For more information on these ministries visit https://cnoy.org/location/ottawalowertown

If you would like to donate to sponsor someone on our Arlington Woods Church team, click HERE to visit our CNOY Team Page. Once on the page, choose the Team Member you would like to sponsor and then select "Donate Now".

join our team:

We would LOVE to have you join the Arlington Woods Church team and raise money for our Ottawa Lowertown ministries! We are also encouraging kids, teens, and families to be involved! You can sign your child/teen up (parents, use your own email address when doing so) and encourage friends and family members to sponsor them on the walk! (Kids need to be accompanied on the walk by a parent). CNOY is a great way for your kids/teens to feel that they are making a difference and helping others.

New this year: kids and teens under 18 yrs old must also have a waiver completed (click here for the waiver formand sent to Pastor Ben beforehand at ben@arlingtonwoods.ca.

To join our team, visit our CNOY Team Page and select "Join the Team". It'll take you through the steps to register!

To gain sponsors and raise funds, the easiest way is to share our team link  with friends, family and co-workers and then get people to click on your name to donate online. Alternately, you can share your own personal link once you've registered to join our team, then share that link for people to donate online. If a sponsor gives you a cash donation and you would like to know how to submit that, contact Pastor Ben for some assistance.

this year's toque:

There is no minimum requirement you have to raise to participate in this year's walk, but all walkers who fundraise $150 or more (for adults 18 and older), or $75 (for youth 17 and under) will receive the 2024 CNOY toque! Wear your toque proudly as a sign that you've accomplished some seriously impressive and impactful fundraising for our charities. If you join our team before Wednesday, February 21st, Pastor Ben will pick up your toque and have it ready for you when you join us for the walk on the 24th. If you join our team afterwards, you will have to pick up your own toque at Jericho Road or Capital City Mission.

our route:

There are THREE options for you to participate in our Coldest Night walk:

1) There is a planned walk in Ottawa Lowertown (Rideau street and through the Byward Market). Check-in opens at 4pm with the walk starting at 5pm. A light meal will be served afterwards from 6-7pm! The Lowertown walk begins and ends at Patro d'Ottawa (community centre), 40 Cobourg Street

2) You can do a 2.5km or 5km walk in your own neighbourhood at a time that works for you! You don't even have to do it on February 25th, although that's recommended. If you do this, please take photos/selfies and share them on social media using the hashtag #CNOY21

3) You can join us for the walk around the church neighbourhood on February 24th at 10:30AM! We chose this time because we thought it would be safer to walk when it's daytime (especially if we have kids joining us!). Walkers can bring a snack or drink with them. Kids need to be walking with a family member. Teens can participate without a family member if they complete a permission form leading up to the event.

We will leave the church to start walking at exactly 10:30AM on Feb. 24th (so don't be late!).

Here's the route on Google Maps.

We will walk from the church down McClellan Road.

At the end of McClellan Rd. Make a right on Siskin Court.

Make a right on Riverbrook Rd.

Make a left on Parkland Crescent.

Make a right on Sellers Way.

Make a right on Parkland Crescent.

Make a left on Riverbrook Rd.

Make a right on McClellan Rd. and return to the church.

This route is 2.5km, so for those walking 5km, we'll take a short break if anyone needs to use a washroom at the church, and then we'll do the circle a second time!
