2:00 - 8:00 p.m. - JOURNEY TO THE CROSS This Thursday our church will be hosting Journey to The Cross from 2:00-8:00 p.m.; this is an artistic interactive exhibition.  It is a space to ponder scripture from creation to The Cross, to pray and to reflectively respond.  Please allow 45 minutes to an hour to complete the journey.  This exhibit is for all ages but please note for a younger audience you may have to modify the speed and language you utilize when journeying through.  Artwork is created by all Canadian artists. 2:00 - 10:00 p.m. Friday, March 29 - CATALYST YOUTH (grades 6 to 12) Today CATALYST YOUTH is heading to NO OTHER NAME!  No Other Name is an annual youth event that takes place on Good Friday. This year, No Other Name is happening on Friday, March 29th from 2-10pm at Cedarview Alliance Church. Email ben@arlingtonwoods.ca for more information.

Easter Sunday: A New Beginning

Easter is coming and with it comes, “New Beginnings”.  We are looking forward to having a great time together as we celebrate what it means that Jesus is not dead, but that HE HAS RISEN from the Tomb, just like He said He would.   Come out and join us for a wonderful morning.

The nursery will be staffed and KIDZone will be happening.

6:30 - 9:00 p.m. Friday, April 5 - CATALYST YOUTH (grades 6 to 12) is meeting in the Creekside Room. Drop in between 6:30-7:00 p.m. to hang out and play on some of our games tables or challenge a friend to a board game. CATALYST Youth then runs from 7:00-9:00 p.m. featuring fun games, worship music, a Bible-based talk, and a chance to connect in groups. Email ben@arlingtonwoods.ca for more information.

3:00 p.m. - Men's Ministry Indoor Soccer Game All men are invited to come out to the Evergreen Hall on Saturday, April 6 at 3:00 p.m. for an afternoon of indoor soccer, comradery and community.

1. An Invitation From the FMCIC National Prayer Team The FMCIC senses the Lord is stirring up a spirit of prayer in us and we do not want to neglect this gift. So, you are invited to join us for 12-noon to 12:30 pm, Eastern Time, 6-days-a-week (Monday to Saturday), prayer meetings, until the end of March. These prayer meetings are open to anyone who would like to join in prayer for the FMCIC and Canada.

2. 8. Spring Encounter The Free Methodist Women’s Conference this year will take place April 19-20, 2024 at the Quality Inn Kingston. Special guest speaker Loreli Cockram will be talking about The Gratefulness Experiment: Discover What Changes When You Give Thanks. CLICK HERE for all the details.

9. Men's Breakfast Join us in the Evergreen Hall on Saturday, April 20th starting at 8:00 a.m.for lots of coffee, great food, fellowship and Kojo will be sharing “His Story”. RSVP by emailing mensministry@arlingtonwoods.ca or sign up at the Welcome Desk and let us know if you have dietary restrictions.

10. Deeper Roots for Teens (grade 7+) This monthly Sunday small group for teens will take place on April 21, 2024. For details, email christinev@arlingtonwoods.ca.

11. AWC Annual Family Parking Lot and Grounds Cleanup Join with your church family to help cleanup the church parking lot and ground. Meet us at the church Saturday, April 27th at 8:30 a.m.!

12. Pastor Mike's & Julie's Farewell Party Save the date: Saturday May 25th we’ll be having a farewell party to honour Pastor Mike & Julie's Retirement from Arlington Woods Church. Join us in the Evergreen Hall from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Pastor Mike's final sermon will be on Sunday, May 26th, 2024.

13. The Patrick J. Kesselring Scholarship Calling All Grade 12 Students you may have an opportunity to apply for the The Patrick J. Kesselring Scholarship through Arlington Woods free Methodist Church.  Applications are due back by May 26 to the church office. CLICK HERE to find out if you qualify.

14. Summer Internships We are hiring an intern at Arlington Woods Church for the summer of 2024!  If you’re interested in applying or getting more info CLICK HERE for full details.

15. Summer Camp If you would like to help with planning, decorations, crafts, sports, games, leading groups, or general supervision, please contact Pastor Ben at ben@arlingtonwoods.ca as soon as possible, so we know we have enough volunteers to proceed. CLICK HERE for more details.

16. Pay It Forward Our debt retirement campaign kicked off on October 28. Click HERE for more information about it as well as upcoming campaign events. 

17. Bread Basket Logo We’re still looking for a logo for our new bread Basket ministry.  Do you have a great idea but need graphics for it?  Give us your ideas and we’ll see what we can do..

2. Arlington Woods Bread Basket We want to let you know about a new and exciting opportunity, we have accepted a partnership with Lionhearts Food Rescue and Redistribution organization. Arlington Woods Church, will look after picking up, packaging and redistributing the unsold baking from the Cob’s at Bells corners 1 day a week, that being Saturday evenings.

6. Daily Bread Devotional Guides Copies of the Daily Bread devotional guides for March-April-May are available at the Welcome Desk. If you can't be at church in person but would like a copy of Daily Bread, please email info@arlingtonwoods.ca with your mailing address.

1. Donate to the Easter Blood Drive - The 2024 Easter Blood Drive is a way to encourage Christians to donate blood or plasma. While 1 in 2 Canadians are eligible to donate, only 1 in 81 does. Book an appointment to donate at Canadian Blood Services donation sites (Carling Ave. for blood or Place d’Orleans for plasma) on March 23 to 30. It’s easy to make your donation part of our team effort. Thank Jesus for shedding His blood for us. Simply:

1. Sign in or create your donor account at the Partners for Life portal on the Canadian Blood Services website at https://myaccount.blood.ca/en or the Give Blood App.    

2. In your account, click on “Join a team” to join by typing and selecting the Easter Blood Drive Team

3.  Book your appointment to donate blood or plasma during Holy Week or any time during 2024.

4. Donate once or as often as you are eligible.

2. Camp IAWAH Family Work Day - Join with the staff at Camp IAWAH to help them out during their family work day.  This will be happening Saturday, April 13 from 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. CLICK HERE for more details.

3. Book Launch and Talk - On May 11 - 2:00-4:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church, 971 Woodroffe Ave., Ottawa. Ladies please join us to celebrate Karen Stiller, a local Christian author and a senior editor at Faith Today, whose second book, “Holiness Here”, will be released on April 9/24 by Nav. Press. “Holiness Here” offers practical and inspiring ways to transform your life by helping you to see the holiness within your ordinary, everyday life. Karen will be talking about her book and will also be available to sign your copy if you wish. Information about ordering her book is on her website at www.karenstiller.com.  

4. Pedalheads Summer Bike Camp - This year Pedalheads will be hosting a summer camp at Arlington Woods Church. For all of the details CLICK HERE.

5. Respond Ottawa - Many local agencies (foodbanks, community houses, inner-city missions) are running low on essential items and the number of requests has grown significantly. Click HERE for a list of food banks in the Ottawa area to contact.

6. FAMSAC Donations - Please bring your food bank donations to the FAMSAC bin in our church lobby.  Regular donations are vital to their sustainability.

Most needed items sugar (2 kg bag), flour (2.5 kg bag), cooking oil, granola bars, fruit cups, oatmeal.
